Congratulations to SBP author and translator Hiroaki Sato for winning one of the two 2017-2018 Japan-United States Friendship Commission Prizes for his English translation of Kansuke Naka's classic Japanese memoir The Silver Spoon, a sharp detailing of life at the end of the Meiji period (1912) through the eyes of a boy as he grows into adolescence. Read More
